WHO ARE WE?
Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment for dull, stressed and congested skin, removing black and white heads, enlarged pores and excess oil production.
If your skin becomes “congested”; the compromised ability of the skin to push fresh new cells toward the surface of your skin at a normal rate, you may experience skin problems.
The Microdermabrasion treatment helps to modify that rate so that it becomes normal. Thus allowing toxins and impurities to flow out of your skin to promote a clear complexion.
Microdermabrasion is the system of finely blasting specially refined crystals at high velocity onto the surface of your skin to exfoliate dead skin cells and promote the regeneration of new cells, thereby creating a skin surface which is clear, youthful and glowing.
Our Microdermabrasion procedure at Tweakment Skin Clinic in Edgbaston, Birmingham uses a vacuum suction nozzle performing a dual role: to suction the skin and promote lymatic drainage and to remove excess crystal and abraded skin cells.
This procedure can be used to treat a number of skin conditions and complaints and results can be seen following just one treatment. A Microdermabrasion treatment is strong enough to ensure excellent results on its own, but gentle enough to be used in conjunction with other treatments. It is suitable for all skin types and ages from 18 and up. Adults can experience skin congestion problems at any time for various reasons.
Microdermabrasion is often called the “lunch time peel” as this procedure can be performed during a lunch break and then you can return to your work. You can also reapply make-up following this treatment. Some redness may occur, particularly with sensitive skin, however this redness will subside within the 24 hours or less following the treatment. Your skin may peel slightly in some areas a couple of days after the treatment.
For after care we recommend staying out of the sun and applying a good SPF protection moisturiser during the day and moisturiser in the evening.
